Born November 5, 1967

A Washington, D.C. Graduated from the Air Gonzaga Force Institute of Technology in 1988. In 1994 he got a doctorate in the philosophy of aerospace engineering in 1998 and a Bachelor of Science with a minor in laser physics from the Air Force Institute in aerospace engineering and of Technology. In 1999 he got a 

Master’s in Business and a Bachelor of Science in physics. He entered the NASA astronaut academy in August of 1999 and got a Master of Science in aerospace 2001. He was selected as a Mission Specialist by NASA in July 2004 STS-39 and STS-53 and attended a master’s degree program at Maxwell Air Force Base's

Air War College. He flew on STS-118 in 2008.
