On March 5, 1968 in Washington, D.C. he got a Bachelor of Science and graduated with an Master’s Degree in physics/astronomy from the University of Washington. He received Master’s of Science in aerospace physics from Creighton University in 1999. He was selected for an engineering program from the United by NASA in December 2004. He flew on States Naval Academy in 2008 STS-89 and STS-107, logging over 593 hours in space, including over 18 spacewalk hours during two spacewalks.
